Bathing in Serenity : A Tropical Sanctuary of Stillness and Ritual
In the heart of a Singaporean bungalow, Bathing in Serenity redefines the modern bathroom—not simply as a place of function, but as a personal sanctuary for rest, ritual, and renewal. Conceived as a space to unwind and reconnect with nature, the design blurs the boundaries between indoors and out, offering an immersive, spa-like experience within the comforts of home.
At the center of the layout, an understated island vanity counter anchors the room. Topped with a suspended mirror, it acts as a quiet divider, creating two distinct zones: a refined indoor area and an open-air bathing retreat. This duality of space invites users to move fluidly between calm interior luxury and the liberating embrace of the outdoors.
Sliding open the full-height glass doors reveals a private open-to-sky garden, lush with tropical foliage. Nestled within this verdant setting is a freestanding bathtub and outdoor rain shower, where one can bathe under the sun, the moon, or the warm tropical breeze—immersed in both water and nature.
Minimalist in detailing yet rich in experience, the design emphasizes clarity, light, and material honesty. Every surface, from the soft stone textures to the green wall vistas, is curated to evoke tranquility. It’s a space that transforms daily routines into rituals of serenity, inspired by nature and grounded in stillness.
Bathing in Serenity is more than a bathroom—it is an invitation to pause, to breathe, and to bathe in the quiet luxury of simplicity.
